Ignis Domito

The school of Fire Magic

The Path of Fire is not what it would seem. While there are those drawn to the chaos fire can represent, the true firetracers yearn to understand and master the flame, to bring order to it, all the while knowing it is ever beyond their ability.

The School of Ignis Domito is for the mathematically minded. For this reason, it finds more drumdar and tinkers than the other schools. Among the most meticulous are the geomancers.

Conjuror

Firetracers with the creative mathematical genius are marvels of ingenuity.

Conjurors can covert kinetic energy to potential energy and create temporary objects.

Master conjurors sometimes compete with illusionists to see who can outfox who.

Geomancer

Firetracers with foundational and structural knowledge of mathematics can engineer their own golems.

Mixing earth and fire, geomancers can mold stone and metal and fuse with the heat of magma.

Golems fueled with enough fire magica can become unstoppable forces.

Channeler

Firetracers who channel draw kinetic energy directly from living cells and convert to raw plasma fire.

Not known for patience or politeness, channelers are ruthlessly practical.

With a singular purpose to feel the raw power of Fire, no magica harnesses more sheer destructive power.

Too much channeling can result in catastrophic and devastating explosions.

Firetracing requires connecting mathematical formulas to create equations of magica. When properly traced and connected, fire magica is ignited with a command, for all magica must be spoken into being.

The formulas are specifc, and to be connected in three dimensional space. Improperly traced formulas can fizzle out or explode. If the formulas are properly connected it is called a pyromatical equation. Less haughty magica wielders call them spells.

Most known formulas are not shared lightly by the school and its affiliates. Mathematical minds, while appreciating other types for time, prefer to be sharpened against other mathematical minds. Competition can get in the way of collaboration, but typically the firetracers value shared knowledge.

It has become an obsession of many firetracers to seek lost lore and as well as go outside the schools of experimentation and test out pyromatical theories that could cause catastrophic devastation if not careful. This is another reason the formulae are guarded closely.
